Dermatologists who are certified in dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology, the American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology, or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
Dermatologists whose training qualifies them to sit for the examination offered by the American Board of Dermatology, the American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology, or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
Dermatopathologists who must be certified in dermatopathology by at least one of the following: American Board of Pathology (ABP), American Osteopathic Board of Pathology (AOBP), American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology (AOBD).
Dermatologists trained outside the U.S. and Canada with requirements equivalent to those qualified to take the examination by the American Board of Dermatology, and have obtained equivalent board certification.
Dermatologists trained outside the U.S. and Canada with requirements equivalent to those qualified to take the examination by the American Board of Dermatology, and are considered a dermatologist in the country they were trained.
Researchers, including PhD holders and other scientists conducting dermatologic research, veterinarians specializing in dermatology, corporate individuals on a director level or higher whose careers are devoted to dermatology.

Member benefits begin after submitting the application, providing all required documents, and receiving approval via email. The initial review typically takes 7-10 business days.
If you wish to register for any AAD meeting, note that meeting registration deadlines do not coincide with membership application dates.
