About DataDerm

Since its launch in 2016, DataDerm has become dermatology’s largest clinical data registry, capturing data on over 16 million unique patients and 69 million encounters. It supports the advancement of skin disease diagnosis and treatment, informs clinical practice, streamlines MIPS reporting, and drives clinically relevant research using real-world data.

The next generation of DataDerm is here

Building on its legacy, the AAD proudly introduces the next generation of DataDerm—a more powerful registry platform built to enhance its impact on quality reporting, clinical research, advocacy, and education.

Integration with leading DataDerm-recognized EHR systems streamlines data capture, reducing manual entry and minimizing the reporting burden on clinicians and staff.

Certification support

Participation in DataDerm satisfies the American Board of Dermatology (ABD) Continuing Certification Program (CCP) requirements through meaningful engagement in quality improvement and performance benchmarking activities.

Empower dermatology: From evidence to insights

DataDerm harnesses millions of data points to drive meaningful policy change. Rich with longitudinal clinical data, DataDerm is setting new standards in dermatology, providing more precise answers, better treatment options, improved education and meaningful policy change.

Inform advocacy efforts

Demonstrated quality

Leveraging strength in numbers, payers, policymakers, and the medical community at large can easily be shown the quality of care provided by the specialty, empowering you to make treatment decisions without impediments.

Evidence-based advocacy

Data on treatment trends and patient care informs AADA’s advocacy by informing insurer negotiations, policy responses, coverage expansions, coding assessments, and Medicare payment discussions.

Facilitate research and development

Health services research

Physicians and researchers can access real-world data for grants, publications, and health system projects. DataDerm has supported peer-reviewed studies on topics like pyoderma gangrenosum, vitiligo, Sweet syndrome, atopic dermatitis medications, teledermatology, clinical outcomes, demographic trends in treatment, access to specialty testing, and managing comorbidities in dermatology patients.

Clinical research and development

To fulfill our promise to the future of dermatology, AAD collaborates with physicians, industry and technology companies to leverage DataDerm to enhance improvements in patient care and care pathways. Data scientists and analysts work closely with dermatology experts to ask highly detailed questions and extract answers that help deliver more precise care and bring new treatments to market.
