AAD Videos of the Month generate strong media interest

Since January 2022, the AAD has produced six Videos of the Month that teach the public how to care for their skin, hair, and nails. Each video is promoted with a press release urging media outlets to share the videos with their audience. To date, this has generated 146 media placements and resulted in over 93 million views.

Some of the high-profile placements include How to Prevent Razor Bumps, featured in Today, How to Relieve Hives at Home, featured in U.S. News & World Report, and How to Care for Dry, Cracked Heels, featured in HealthDay.

This year, the Academy also received YouTube’s Silver Creator Award after surpassing 100,000 YouTube subscribers while working to promote board-certified dermatologists as the skin, hair, and nail experts.

Next year, the monthly videos will evolve to connect the quality education content with the Your Dermatologist Knows consumer positioning messages.
