The Industry Non-CME (INC) Programs at the 2024 AAD Annual Meeting are your chance to learn about the latest innovations directly from industry. At the sponsoring company’s discretion, these sessions present new research findings, showcase specialty innovations, conduct demonstrations, and host lively discussions.
Pre-registration and food and beverage may be provided by the sponsoring company. INC Programs take place after scientific sessions in the evening and are solely developed and delivered by the sponsor. They do not qualify for continuing medical education credit.

Every patient with alopecia areata (AA) has a unique journey living with their disease and is impacted by the disease in different ways. In this Pfizer-sponsored Industry Non-CME (INC) Program, participants will experience the premiere of the short film, Day One: Living With Alopecia Areata, which follows a day in the life of three patients with AA and explores how living with AA affects the fundamentals of modern life. Many AD treatment goals focus on clinical manifestations, so that if a patient is free of lesions, their disease is considered well controlled. However, the inflammatory process underlying AD reaches far beyond the skin, affecting patients in unique ways at different stages of their lives. Education on the importance of treating AD beyond the skin and altering the treatment approach to fit the individual patient will help improve clinical management and reduce long-term patient burden.

The 60-minute live symposium will include two patient cases and will utilize active collaboration to drive learner engagement and problem-solving. In this symposium, internationally renowned itch experts will explore how two very distinct diseases with seemingly unrelated clinical features can share an underlying pathomechanism manifesting in chronic signs and symptoms. In the context of prurigo nodularis (PN) and chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU), the presenters will showcase the latest research on itch pathophysiology and the neuro-immune mechanisms that drive their unique disease characteristics. The expert panel will explore new pathways and how type 2 inflammatory cytokines interact with the nerves and surrounding tissue milieu, perpetuating the chronic itch and lesion formation characteristic of both PN and CSU and mechanistically linking these two distinct skin diseases.
