Pathways high school students

Start discovering dermatology early

Curious about skin science, health care, or helping people feel confident in their skin?

Pathways helps high school students discover the exciting world of dermatology through engaging classroom resources and early career exploration. Whether you’re considering medicine or simply love science, this is where your journey can begin.

Your first step toward dermatology

You don’t need to have your entire future figured out to start exploring medicine.

High school is the perfect time to ask questions, discover new interests, and learn how dermatologists improve lives every day through patient care, research, education, innovation, and advocacy.

Pathways introduces students to dermatology in an approachable, engaging way while helping build confidence for future academic and career opportunities.

Explore dermatology

  • Sun safety and skin health: Build healthy habits and understand how protecting your skin today can improve your health for years to come.

  • Skin science: Discover how your skin, hair, and nails work, and why they matter to your overall health. Read more below on how you can bring a one-hour program to your school.

Bring dermatology into the classroom

Our Skin Science curriculum, developed with Young Minds Inspired, provides free, ready-to-use classroom lessons for grades 9-12.

These engaging activities introduce students to skin anatomy, common skin conditions, sun safety, and the many careers available within dermatology — all while reinforcing biology and health science concepts.

Whether you’re a student learning independently or an educator bringing new content into your classroom, these resources make exploring dermatology both fun and meaningful.
