Medicare physician payment missing from final funding bill, AADA vows to continue fight for reform

Advocacy News Alert
The AADA is beyond disappointed that Congress will adjourn without mitigating or canceling the pending 2.8% Medicare physician payment cut that is due to take effect Jan. 1, 2025. Despite reaching an earlier, comprehensive agreement that would have stopped most of the cuts, which was opposed by President-elect Trump, Congress passed scaled-back legislation to simply fund the government until March 14, 2025. Unfortunately, action to avert the Medicare cut has been set aside until after the cut goes into effect in January, likely when new government funding is dealt with in March.
The AADA has lobbied Congress throughout 2024 to avert all Medicare decreases to dermatology payment, making this our sole federal legislative advocacy priority, and we will continue the fight for reform. We need your help.
Take action now to tell Congress to stop the 2025 Medicare physician payment cuts and provide physicians with an overdue inflationary update to protect seniors’ access to care. It is important that Congress hears directly from physicians to make a real change.
