We’ve created a template for an email you can send to your members.
Download the TemplateThe American Academy of Dermatology Association is committed to defending dermatology patients’ access to care. Right now that care, particularly for early detection of skin cancer, is in peril.
A proposed Medicare rule would severely cut funding to dermatologic care in 2027, with the cuts disproportionately going to services used every day to find and treat skin cancer early.
Why does that matter? Skin cancer when found early is incredibly treatable. For example, melanoma caught early has 99% survival rate, when allowed to spread to other organs survival drops to 35%.
We have launched a new campaign to sound the alarm on this policy and Save Skin Cancer Care and we need your help:
Officially join the Save Skin Cancer Coalition to help demonstrate the full concern of the dermatology community.
Ask your members to sign the community statement. We have template language for you to help make this easy.
Please reach out to me at president@aad.org if you have a question. A member of the AADA’s staff will follow up with you shortly if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Murad Alam, MD
