Skin health and beauty tips now available at your fingertips

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. (July 11, 2013) —Mobile app provides up-to-date, reliable skin, hair and nail information 

Finding the latest tips and information on caring for your skin, hair and nails is now as easy as downloading the new Derm A to Z mobile app from the American Academy of Dermatology (Academy). The app, available at no cost at, provides health and beauty tips as well as information on diseases and treatments – content reviewed and approved by board-certified dermatologists. 

Other features of the app include:
  • State-of-the-art real-time UV index based on the geographic location of the device.  (UV index also available by zip code search.)
  • Find-a-dermatologist search tool based on the geographic location of the device or by city and state or zip code.
  • Feed of the Academy’s monthly Skin E-News to provide the latest news in skin care. 
The release of the app coincides with a major redesign of the Dermatology A to Z section of the Academy’s website,, to help people better understand how to take care of their skin, hair and nails. Dermatology A to Z also includes videos on a variety of topics as well as information written for kids.
