American Academy of Dermatology launches redesigned website

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. (March 23, 2011) —The American Academy of Dermatology (Academy) recently launched its redesigned website, The new design optimizes access to dermatologic health information for the public and the media, and provides extensive resources and tools for member dermatologists.

The redesigned website offers easily accessible and expanded information about dermatology, and gives the public expert insights into the care and treatment of the skin, hair and nails for a lifetime of healthy habits, including:

  • Dermatology A to Z, which highlights signs and symptoms, common causes, diagnosis and treatment, and management tips for a variety of dermatologic conditions.
  • Quick links to find a dermatologist and free skin cancer screenings.
  • Downloadable tips and worksheets about skin cancer detection and prevention, including how to conduct a skin self-examination and a body mole map to track suspicious spots.
