Statement from Mark D. Kaufmann, president of the American Academy of Dermatology
ROSEMONT, Ill. (July 18, 2022) — There is no doubt that the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization will impact the way that board-certified dermatologists provide care for their patients.
The American Academy of Dermatology is currently evaluating the decision through a task force that will provide guidance to Academy members on how best to navigate state laws and give counsel to states about how care should be implemented for pregnant patients who may have been exposed to teratogenic medications.
