Member benefits

From residency to retirement, you can rely on us for premier educational opportunities, as a hub for innovation in patient care, and for the latest information impacting the specialty.

CME

Created by dermatologists for dermatologists, our educational resources help you stay up to date on the latest treatments and procedures while furthering your professional development.

The educational offerings included with your membership can earn you more than 60 CME credits annually. These offerings include the Question of the Week, JAAD quizzes, and more. Learn more about our latest CME course on actinic keratosis or see other featured CME courses.

Advocacy

We advocate for dermatology, making sure your unique expertise is fairly valued by payers and understood by your colleagues in the house of medicine and offering you opportunities to make your voice heard.

Our top legislative priority this year is fighting to prevent Medicare cuts. We are winning reforms for dermatology with the FDA and with private payers.

Meetings

We offer a variety of opportunities to share your knowledge and ideas, network with leaders in specialty care, and discover the latest enhancements in patient care.

Learn about the 2024 Annual Meeting in San Diego, the 2024 Innovation Academy in Seattle, or the 2025 Annual Meeting in Orlando.

Practice management

You’re there for your patients; we’re here for you with programs and resources to help you achieve excellence in patient care by improving access and growing innovation.

We offer you templated appeal letters in our popular Prior Authorization Appeal Letter Tool. We continue to add to our library of coding resources. Our secure and private AAD Clinical Community has become a go-to online place for dialogue among dermatologists. We also provide direct support to thousands of members each year.

The AAD’s preferred providers offer members practical, money-saving solutions for personal and professional stability. From discounts on medical, surgical, and front-office supplies to personal and financial protection, these preferred provider programs can be your solution for work and life.

Positioning the specialty

The AAD continues to score wins with a new, robust public awareness program, called Your Dermatologist Knows, dedicated to making sure that the public understands that board-certified dermatologists are the leading experts in conditions affecting skin, hair, and nails. The program generated millions of public views and engagements in 2023. Learn more about Your Dermatologist Knows. Our website for the public also appears in top search results for a variety of conditions.

Recently, we enhanced Find a Dermatologist, our site that allows patients to find and connect with dermatologists in their area, making it more mobile friendly and helpful. We also redesigned our Member directory, giving the member control over what information is visible and what should remain private.

These are just a few examples of the impact being an AAD member can have on you and your career in dermatology. Check out the latest issue of the Academy’s Impact Report to learn more.
