Kevin’s personal story

Kevin McNamara
At the end of January 2016, my family took a two-day trip to the Great Wolf Lodge in the Poconos for my daughter’s 4th birthday. While in the wave pool with my daughter, a woman tapped me on the shoulder and told me she was a dermatologist and that I had a melanoma on my upper back that needed to be taken care of. The doctor never gave me her name but she had red hair and is located in the Tri-State area if I had to guess.

Needless to say, I immediately saw the dermatologist and I indeed had melanoma. I went to see Dr. Anthony Rossi at Sloan Kettering in New York. I received the finest care in the world at Sloan and luckily I had melanoma in situ. They had caught the cancer early due to kindness of a stranger.

I had surgery in March and the cancer was removed. The early detection was a successful key for my individual case. I owe a debt of gratitude to the doctor who while on vacation decided to help a stranger. I really feel I had a guardian angel that day and would love to find the doctor who saved my life and thank her personally. If anyone knows a dermatologist who might fit my description please contact me.

Thank you.
