Past hikes

Kumano Kodo, Japan: May 24-31, 2023

This past May, 16 hikers traveled to Osaka, Japan to begin their Skin Cancer, Take a Hike!™ journey through Japan's cultural and spiritual landscapes, hiking along the Kumano Kodo, an age-old web of pilgrimage routes. Together, they raised nearly $300,000 in support of AAD’s SPOT Skin Cancer™ initiatives.

Dolomites, Italy: July 17–24, 2022

In July 2022, 15 hikers took on the challenging Dolomites trek for Skin Cancer, Take a Hike!™ and helped raise over $205,000 for skin cancer prevention and early detection programs and services.

New Orleans, LA (NOLA): August 6, 2022

On August 6th, a group of dedicated high schoolers and their families gathered together for the first ever Skin Cancer, Take a Hike! in New Orleans, LA. Spearheaded by local student Adelaide Jackson and with the help of her dermatologist mom, Dr. Sarah Jackson, the group raised over $18,000, as well as spread the message of skin cancer prevention and detection throughout their community.
