Brittany’s personal story

Brittany Jackson's Mom
Brittany Jackson's Mom
My mom lost her fight with nodular melanoma on April 17, 2013. She was diagnosed with stage IV nodular melanoma in September 2011.

She had three surgeries, radiation, and chemo treatments to shrink and remove her tumors. After every treatment and surgery her cancer just kept spreading and coming back. Her cancer started as a nodular mole on her forehead and spread to her lymphatic system. Than to her lungs, adrenal gland, and her spine.

She became inoperable and considered terminal in January 2013. She went into hospice in March 2013 and lasted 28 days. She left behind three grand children, two of which were infants. She fought so hard and stayed so strong but her body just couldn't fight anymore. She was never a person who liked sitting in the sun and she always wore sunscreen. We all need more awareness of nodular melanoma as it can effect anyone.
