Learning Objectives:
Following this course, the attendee should be able to:

  • Recognize unique and common presentations of facial dermatoses
  • Develop management strategies for diverse facial dermatoses

This session will focus on the management of facial dermatoses. We will discuss identification of allergens in facial allergic contact dermatitis and describe strategies for avoidance of allergens. We will review new treatment options for facial dermatoses including head and neck dermatitis, rosacea, and demodex dermatitis. We will discuss the differentiating characteristics, precipitants, and evidence-based treatment options for periorificial dermatitis. In addition, attendees will recognize facial dermatoses in skin of color patients and examine cultural practices and their role in facial dermatoses.
