Non-Infectious Granulomas: An Update on Cutaneous Granulomatous Diseases
Ticket required for admission, no tuition fee. Ticket holds seat for only 15 minutes after the official start time.
Friday, August 17
1:00 PM - 2:30 PM
Misha Rosenbach, MD, FAAD
Following this course, the attendee should be able to:
- Recognize and distinguish between the non-infectious granulomatous diseases
- Evaluate patients with non-infectious granulomatous dermatoses for systemic disease associations
- Treat the cutaneous manifestations of non-infectious granulomatous diseases
The category "non-infectious granulomatous diseases" includes a variety of poorly understood--and poorly differentiated--cutaneous reactions. There exists substantial overlap between granuloma annulare variants, necrobiosis lipoidica, interstitial granulomatous dermatitis, interstitial granulomatous drug reaction, palisaded neutrophilic granulomatous dermatitis, and sarcoidosis. We will discuss the classic clinical and histologic presentations of these diseases, and highlight areas of overlap and distinction. At the end of this session, the audience should be able to recognize a variety of non-infectious granulomatous reaction patterns, distinguish between the various entities, and evaluate patients for associated underlying diseases. Finally, we will review the therapeutic management of these diseases.
