Learning Objectives

Following this course, the attendee should be able to:

  • Recognize unique challenges and workarounds for dermatologists participating in short-term international volunteering during training, early career and mid-to-late career.
  • Identify programs that facilitate short-term international volunteer opportunities for dermatologists.
  • Summarize common myths about short-term international volunteerism.

Description

Have you contemplated volunteering abroad as a dermatologist but weren't sure where to begin or how to make it work? Whether you're in training, just starting in practice or nearing retirement, this session will provide you with all you need to get started. You'll learn about inspiring experiences, unique challenges, practical tips, common myths and established opportunities related to volunteering abroad as a dermatologist. Please join us for this fun and interactive session! This activity has been approved by the American Board of Dermatology (ABD) for up to 20 MOC Component 2 Self-Assessment points.
