C014 - Fundamentals of Dermoscopy

Saturday, February 17; 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Learning Objectives

Following this course, the attendee should be able to:

  • Outline the 2 Step Method in defining melanocytic and non-melanocytic neoplasms
  • Define specific dermoscopic characteristics in melanoma subtypes
  • Demonstrate specific diagnostic elements in the dermoscopy of benign and malignant skin neoplasms

Description

This course incorporates the 2 step mechanism along with other leading methods for the practitioner to learn dermoscopy. It will also serve as an excellent review course for daily practitioners of dermoscopy. Both melanocytic and non- melanocytic lesions will be discussed and then specialized sessions will deal with benign and malignant variants of these lesions. Unknown dermoscopy sessions will be conducted throughout the course so the attendants will test their growing knowledge. The afternoon sessions will also present unusual topics such as spitz nevi, anatomic variants and mimickers in dermoscopy. The day course will end with a final session of unknowns.
