Learning Objectives:
Following this course, the attendee should be able to:

  • Discuss the unique challenges faced by pediatric patients with hyperhidrosis.
  • Evaluate pediatric patients with hypertrichosis.
  • Outline the core discussion with patients and parents regarding pediatric hyperhidrosis and hypertrichosis.

This session is meant to assist the clinical dermatologist in managing pediatric patients with hyperhidrosis and hypertrichosis. Guidelines for assessing even the youngest patients will help physicians formulate a comprehensive plan for assessment and treatment of the population affected by these two clinical concerns. The lectures are designed to help the clinician recognize, counsel, follow and care for this unique group of pediatric patients. An overview of recommendations for referral to other subspecialists such as neurology and endocrinology will be provided.
