Learning Objectives:
Following this course, the attendee should be able to:

  • Differentiate between the types of scarring alopecia
  • Formulate an individualized treatment plan for patients with scarring alopecia

There are few, if any, controlled trials on the treatment of scarring alopecia, and the same approach will not work for every patient. This session will provide an overview on the use of clinical and histopathologic findings to distinguish between the various types of alopecia. Using patient vignettes, clinicians with experience in treating these diseases will then share the medical and surgical management approaches they use that have resulted in increased patient satisfaction.
