Learning Objectives:
Following this course, the attendee should be able to:

  • Identify and distinguish early forms and various clinical presentations of paraneoplastic dermatoses, melanoma and genitourinary malignancies, and transplant risks
  • Utilize recent data from the literature to enable clinicians to differentiate primary underlying malignancies and their most common type of skin presentation.
  • Describe the role of biologics and in malignancy, how melanoma can cause systemic disease, and develop treatment plans for patients with cutaneous and systemic malignancies

Cutaneous malignancies and the role of the skin in systemic malignancy will be showcased. Topics include: paraneoplastic dermatoses and their manifestations, the role of biologics and systemic malignancy, an update on melanoma, along with highlights of specific myeloid and genitourinary malignancies will be discussed. The use of patient cases and audience participation will facilitate session attendees' ability to better formulate work-up and treatment plans, as well as develop skills on how to better communicate with other healthcare providers. This course is designed for both clinicians in practice and those in training.
