Learning Objectives:
Following this course, the attendee should be able to:

  • Review the latest research on ethnic hair and skin biology
  • Discuss the management of the more common pigment disorders affecting skin of color patients
  • Determine effective treatments for disorders affecting skin of color patients

The demographics of the United States is changing such that persons with skin of color are comprising a larger proportion of the population. Common skin disorders often present differently and there are also various skin disorders that are more common and present treatment challenges in the skin of color patient. This session will cover some of the more common and unique hair and skin disorders in the skin of color patient and provide valuable information to approach and adequately manage these conditions.
