Technology for Teaching: Patients, Providers, and Trainees
Tuesday, March 05
7:15 AM - 8:45 AM
Ivy Lee, MD, FAAD
Following this course, the attendee should be able to:
- Discuss the evolving role of technology in patient education, medical education, and practice-based learning for dermatologists.
- Identify valid technological resources for patients, providers, and trainees.
Technology is evolving at a rapid pace, and its power as a teaching tool remains relatively unexploited. This session will review various technologies (internet resources, mobile apps, and telehealth) and their current or potential use for patient education, decision support and continuing medical education for dermatologists and non-dermatologist practitioners, and medical education. Innovative ways of integrating technology as a teaching tool will be discussed.
