Recommended Screening Practices in Medical Dermatology

Following this course, the attendee should be able to:
- Recognize that many connective tissue diseases have known associated systemic morbidities.
- Identify the known associated systemic morbidities in patients with systemic sclerosis, dermatomyositis, cutaneous lupus erythematosus, and morphea and complete screening for these morbidities.
- Utilize the American College of Rheumatology guidelines for the prevention of glucocorticoid induced osteoporosis.
This session will review the known systemic comorbidities associated with systemic sclerosis, dermatomyositis, cutaneous lupus erythematosus and morphea and review the current screening recommendations for these comorbidities. We will also review vitamin D supplementation recommendations and the American College of Rheumatology recommendations for the prevention and treatment of glucocorticoid induced osteoporosis
