Following this course, the attendee should be able to:
- Describe recent updates to and opportunities to meet requirements of Dermatology Maintenance of Certification.
- Describe an approach to achieving your personal MOC requirements.
- Identify ties between MOC and Maintenance of Licensure, and discuss potential motivations for lifetime board certificate holders to participate in MOC.
Every dermatologist is interested in maximizing the quality of care they provide the patient. Every time-limited board certified dermatologist is or will soon be enrolled into the Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program, a requirement of all 24 member boards of the American Board of Medical Specialties. The MOC program has the goal of improving a dermatologist's quality of care through professional standing, self assessment, periodic examination and practice performance assessment. This session is designed to help audience members design a practical approach to meet current requirements and to familiarize audience members with resources that can help.
