Learning Objectives:
Following this course, the attendee should be able to:

  • Identify clues on cutaneous exam for autoimmune connective tissue diseases
  • Recognize the unique considerations for managing patients with amyopathic dermatomyositis
  • Describe existing and emerging ideas in therapy for cutaneous disease

This session will focus on providing tips to recognize both the classic as well as the less common cutaneous manifestations of autoimmune connective tissue diseases, with a particular emphasis on cutaneous lupus and dermatomyositis. The unique aspects of management of patients with amyopathic dermatomyositis will be highlighted. Advanced management of cutaneous autoimmune disease will be emphasized, including a detailed review of existing and emerging therapeutic options for refractory skin disease.
