January: Winter skin

As you brave the cold winter air, I can offer advice to help you care for your skin until spring. In addition to explaining how to prevent and treat frostbite, I can provide tips for dealing with dry skin, itchy skin and hand rashes.

February: Valentine’s Day

Do you need to deal with a cold sore, dandruff or excessive sweating before your big Valentine’s Day date? I can provide tips for managing these conditions. I also can help you look your best for your Valentine by providing hair and nail care tips.

March: Spring break travel

Traveling for spring break? I can tell you how to check your hotel room for bedbugs, as well as how to prevent and treat blisters so you can sightsee pain-free. If you want to look tan on the beach, I can provide tips for using self-tanner and sunscreen — and explain why indoor tanning is dangerous.

April: Rosacea

April is National Rosacea Awareness Month. I can provide tips for managing this skin disease, including tips to prevent flare-ups.

May: Skin cancer detection

May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month. I can provide tips on how to spot skin cancer early, when it’s most treatable, including instructions for conducting a skin self-exam.

June: Skin cancer prevention

As you enjoy the summer sun, it’s important to protect yourself and your family from its harmful ultraviolet rays. I can provide tips to help you prevent skin cancer, including how to select a sunscreen and how to keep babies safe in the sun.

July: Summer skin issues

After you spend time outside this summer, you may come back inside with a skin problem. I can provide tips for dealing with sunburn, poison ivy rashes, bug bites and bee stings .

August: Psoriasis/hair loss

August is Psoriasis Awareness Month. I can provide tips for recognizing and managing this serious skin disease.


August is also Hair Loss Awareness Month. I can offer a variety of information on
hair loss, including how to prevent hair damage and how to recognize the difference between hair loss and normal hair shedding.

September: Back to school

During back-to-school season, teenagers may be self-conscious if they have oily skin or acne; I can offer advice for managing these conditions. And if younger children pick up any pests from their classmates, I can provide tips for managing head lice and scabies.

October: Eczema

October is Eczema Awareness Month. I can provide tips for managing this condition, including how to care for a child with eczema.

November: National Healthy Skin Month

November is National Health Skin Month. I can provide a variety of skin care tips, including how to shave and how to use petroleum jelly to address common skin concerns.

December: Holiday cooking

As you prepare your holiday meals, you may experience a little accident in the kitchen. I can explain how to treat minor burns and cuts.
