Academy President Henry Lim outlines goals for coming year


Henry Lim, MD, who assumed the office of Academy president at the Academy Meeting in Orlando in March, outlined his priorities for the coming year at the Plenary session. His top priorities are to position the specialty to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing health care environment, and to continue the Academy's mission as the unified voice of dermatology. Dr. Lim earned his medical degree from SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., and completed his dermatology residency at the New York University School of Medicine. He is the chairman of the department of dermatology and Clarence S. Livingood Chair in Dermatology at Henry Ford Health System in Detroit.

Dr. Lim previously served the Academy as vice president and a member of its board of directors. He is the current chair of the Academy’s Research Agenda Committee and the former chair of the Council on Science and Research and the Scientific Assembly Committee.
