I’m delighted to announce the launch of AAD’s free MyDermPath+ app app, a comprehensive resource for dermatologists and dermatopathologists. Funded by a Sulzberger Insitute Grant, this user-friendly app features interactive algorithms for generating differential diagnosis using a clinicopathological approach.

Together with Drs. Tammie Ferringer, Dirk Elston, Eun Ji Kwon, and Chen “Mary” Chen, we worked to develop algorithms for histological diagnosis, immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence. This material was then converted into an app with collaboration of software engineers and is now provided as a free educational tool.

MyDermPath+ includes the ability to move forward and backward within algorithms. This approach to diagnosis with clinicopathological correlation has the potential to improve diagnostic accuracy and creates an excellent learning environment.

App highlights include:
  • Search via diagnosis or move forward and backward within algorithms
  • Follow algorithms for immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and special stains
  • Test your knowledge with a multiple-choice quiz
  • Review histological and clinical images

The app is available in Apple and Google Play stores.
