Non-member registration and housing


Categories that don't require additional documentation

The following two categories do not require any additional documentation, but must meet the requirements below to register. Registration will begin December 4th at 12pm noon (CT).

Non-member physician

  • For those who treat patients in an office-like setting

Non-member non-physician

  • For non-member corporate individuals, pharmacists, distributors, industry representatives, marketers, business developers, and scientists/researchers, CEO, COO, or Director-level titles working in the field of dermatology. This also includes aestheticians and cosmetologists and all employees affiliated with aesthetician or cosmetologist procedures.


Categories that require additional documentation

The following categories are required to have an Access ID# to register online (ID# request link is posted near bottom of page). During this process, the required documentation outlined below for each category will be requested. Be sure that your documentation contains all of the items that we request. If incomplete documentation is submitted, you will be contacted for updated documents and processing time will be delayed. 

Dermatology residents and medical fellows & Non-dermatology residents and medical fellows 

  • For those who are not AAD graduate members 

  • Participation in a training program must be ongoing at the time of the meeting

  • REQUIRED: Official letter from an educational or training institution validating participation in the program. This letter needs to be signed, reflect a current date, and list the start date and anticipated end date of the training program.

Medical students

  • Participation in a medical program must be ongoing at the time of the meeting

  • REQUIRED: Official letter from an educational or training institution validating your medical student status. This letter needs to be signed, reflect a current date, and list the start date and anticipated end date of the training program

Physician assistants and nurse practitioners

  • For those not part of the AAD DermCare Team

  • Must be employed by an AAD member dermatologist

  • Employing physician does not need to attend the meeting

  • This category refers to the specific physician assistant and nurse practitioner licensure commonly found in the US and Canada. This category is not available to physicians assisting other physicians.

  • REQUIRED: Copy of your current medical license

  • REQUIRED: Letter of sponsorship from your employing physician. The sponsorship letter must be signed and have a current date.

Nurses (RN/LPN)

  • For those not part of the AAD DermCare Team 

  • Must be employed by a practicing dermatologist

  • Employing physician does not need to attend the meeting 

  • REQUIRED: Copy of your current RN or LPN license

  • REQUIRED: A signed and currently dated letter of sponsorship from your employing dermatologist. The letter must be on practice letterhead and state that you are currently working for them in their practice. 

Dermatology practice staff

  • New description - This category is intended for those who work in a dermatology practice and who provide patient services. Some examples of acceptable dermatology practice staff roles would be front desk, medical records, referral clerk, insurance billing, coding, and histotechnicians. This is not for physicians, researchers, CEO, COO, or Director-level titles, aestheticians, cosmetologists, or any employees affiliated with aesthetician or cosmetic procedures.

  • For those not part of the AAD DermCare Team

  • Must be employed by a practicing dermatologist

  • Employing physician does not need attend the meeting 

  • This registration category has limited meeting access. Access is to non-restricted (S) Symposia, (P) Plenary session, E-posters, the exhibit hall, Practice Management designated (C) Courses, (F) Forums, (U) Focus sessions, and (D) Discussion Groups. For a session listing please view the searchable program, which will be posted under the Education icon above in November. 

  • REQUIRED: A signed and currently dated letter of sponsorship from your employing dermatologist. The letter must be on practice letterhead and state that you are currently working for him/her in their practice. It must also state your role in the practice. 


Request an access ID#

Begin your request
  • Requests will be reviewed beginning November 20, 2019. After that time please allow 5 business days for processing. 

  • Your login is required at the beginning of the access ID# request process. If you do not already have an online account with the AAD website, you will be required to create one. 

  • If you are requesting an ID# for someone else, please login with your individual login. Once logged in, you will be given the option to request an ID# for someone other than yourself. 

  • Please allow 5 business days for processing and approval of your access ID#. 

  • Requests must be received by February 5, 2020 to be processed in time to register by the early bird deadline date of February 12, 2020 at 12 p.m. noon (CT). We do our best to accommodate all requests. Please do not contact us to expedite your request. 

  • After receipt of your ID#, registration and housing can be completed via the online system.

  • The deadline for submission and approval of an ID# is March 11, 2020.

  • After March 11th, non-members who have not yet requested an access ID# to register online will need to credential and register at the meeting. 

  • Access ID# requests and documentation will only be accepted via the online submission site. 

  • To ensure the proper registration category and rates are being assigned, the AAD will occasionally utilize other websites or programs for verification of non-member submission information.


* Although not part of the typical non-member process, it is worth noting the meeting access for those with either an Exhibitor or Guest badge. Exhibitor badges will have admittance to the exhibit hall and the Plenary session. Meeting registration in an appropriate, alternative category is required to attend any portion of the scientific program and educational sessions. Guest badges will have access to the exhibit hall on Sunday, March 22, only and the Plenary session. Meeting registration in an appropriate, alternative category is required to attend any portion of the scientific program and educational sessions.
