The American Academy of Dermatology is pleased to welcome the media to the 2020 AAD Annual Meeting in Denver, Colorado. The Annual Meeting will take place from Friday, March 20, through Tuesday, March 24, at the Colorado Convention Center. The Press Office will be located in Room 103.

Press registration is open!
To qualify for press credentials, all media must complete the Application for Press Credentials and submit the following:
Those who have attended a previous AAD scientific meeting must provide bylined samples of coverage from that meeting.
Those who have not attended an AAD scientific meeting must submit bylined samples of coverage of the specialty of dermatology.
Samples originally produced in another language must be translated to English, with a clearly denoted byline.
Freelance writers must provide a letter of assignment on the news organization’s letterhead.
Those who have attended a previous AAD scientific meeting must provide bylined samples of coverage from that meeting in addition to their letter of assignment.
To conserve time during the registration process, the Academy recommends that media interested in attending the Annual Meeting apply for press credentials online ahead of the conference. The advance registration deadline is Wednesday, March 11, and the housing deadline is Friday, February 28.
Immediately upon arrival at the meeting, all media must visit the Press Office, located in Room 103 in the Colorado Convention Center, to either pick up their press badges (if they registered in advance) or complete the on-site registration process.

The press office is located in Room 103 in the Colorado Convention Center.
Press office hours are as follows:
Friday, March 20: 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Saturday, March 21: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Sunday, March 22: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Monday, March 23: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Video information and sign-up
Video recording is only permitted in areas designated by AAD Communications staff. If you are interested in conducting video interviews with dermatologists during the meeting, these interviews must take place in a designated area, and they must be scheduled in advance. Approaching meeting attendees for on-the-spot interviews is not allowed.
The video interview locations are Room 105 and the corridor outside the Press Office (Room 103) at the Colorado Convention Center. These spaces must be reserved in advance and will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. You can reserve these spaces on-site at the Press Office, Room 103.
Equipment set-up and take-down must be completed within your reserved time-slot. Equipment cannot be stored in the Press Office.

How can I access the meeting handouts?
Meeting handouts are accessible online and via the meeting mobile app. Login information will be provided to registered press.
Where is the exhibit hall located?
The technical exhibits will be located in Halls A-C in the Colorado Convention Center.
What are the exhibit hall hours?
10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Friday, March 20
10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Saturday, March 21
10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Sunday, March, 22
Where can I view the e-posters?
E-posters will be accessible online starting Friday, March 21. Meeting attendees also may visit the e-poster viewing stations in the AAD Connection, located in Hall D in the Colorado Convention Center. E-poster presentations will take place according to the posted schedule.
Which sessions can press attend?
Registered press will have access to:
Focus Sessions, Symposia, Forums and Discussion Groups after all meeting attendees have been seated.
Workshops and Courses after all ticketed attendees have been seated. If a ticketed event is overcrowded, entry may be prohibited due to fire code regulations.
The Plenary Session, which includes the AAD’s annual business meeting, on Sunday, March 3, from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Technical Exhibits and Electronic Poster Exhibits during regular business hours.
Press are prohibited from attending:
Live Demonstrations (C001and C004)
Media Training: Developing and Delivering Key Messages (C014 and C020) Patient Encounter Workshops
Academy business/operational meetings (beyond the Plenary), including board of directors, advisory board, council, committee and task force meetings, and any special meetings/forums of the Academy membership.
Can I take photos or record audio or video at the meeting?
Registered press are prohibited from taking photographs with any device in the technical exhibit hall.
Registered press may not photograph scientific material, including slide presentations and poster exhibits, for publication.
Audio may be recorded for personal use only (i.e., for gathering information) and not for rebroadcast or reproduction. If you are recording for quotation, the speaker’s permission must be obtained in advance.
Registered press may conduct video interviews or live social media broadcasts as long as permission is granted by the AAD Communications Department and filming takes place in one of the designated locations indicated by Communications staff. Video areas will be available on a first-come, first-served basis; media must reserve time slots in advance by visiting the Press Office.
Media may not record video or conduct social media broadcasts in areas other than the locations designated by Communications staff.
Registered press are prohibited from video recording in the scientific sessions, in the technical exhibit hall or the poster exhibit area.
The AAD will offer meeting b-roll footage for outlets to use in their coverage.
