American Academy of Dermatology selects ContextMedia:Health as Patient Education Affinity Partner

Chicago, IL – November 14, 2016 — ContextMedia:Health, the leading provider of healthcare decision platforms, today announces that it has been selected as an Affinity Partner with the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), the largest dermatology association in the United States. The partnership offers ContextMedia:Health’s suite of digital educational technology to the AAD’s U.S. members at no cost, with the goal of delivering important decision enhancement technologies, educational content and intelligence to patients and dermatologists for use before and during the consultation. The agreement also brings dermatologic health content from the AAD’s patient education library to relevant practices within ContextMedia:Health’s national network of 25,000 physician practices, hospitals and health systems.

“With membership that accounts for virtually every dermatology office in the United States, the American Academy of Dermatology is the driving force in improving health outcomes within dermatology,” said Anil Harjani, VP of Strategic Partnerships at ContextMedia:Health. “As a mission and value-driven organization, ContextMedia:Health found alignment in AAD’s patient-centric values. Together, we are excited to bring ContextMedia:Health’s innovations to providers in AAD’s network so that they can enhance their consultations, and further their pursuit of putting the patient first.”

“Patients appreciate the trusted and credible health information they receive from their dermatologists during in-office counseling, and research has shown the benefits of patient education, including greater treatment compliance and overall patient satisfaction,” said Rebecca C. Tung, MD, FAAD, chair of the AAD’s Public Education Committee. “Through this partnership, the AAD will expand the reach of important skin, hair and nail health information.”

This announcement marks the first nationwide point-of-care patient education partnership for the American Academy of Dermatology, and the largest dermatology partnership to date for ContextMedia:Health.
