Congressman seeks to protect patients with pre-existing conditions

Jan. 31, 2017
Rep. Greg Walden (R-Ore.), chair of the House Energy and Commerce Committee is circulating plans for the Pre-Existing Conditions Protection Act of 2017. Rep. Walden’s legislation would “ensure patients with pre-existing conditions have important protections beyond Obamacare.” In a recent dear colleague letter, Rep. Walden stated, “This assurance gives many patients and families who have ever suffered from or are battling pre-existing conditions peace of mind. And House Republicans want to continue helping folks in Oregon and across the country get – and keep – health care, regardless of how healthy or sick they may be.”
