Learning Objectives:
Following this course, the attendee should be able to:

  • Analyze the current cosmeceutical market place for new trends important to dermatology
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the evidence behind cosmeceutical development
  • Examine how to effectively incorporate cosmeceuticals into dermatologic practice

Description:
This session evaluates new trends in cosmeceutical development that are relevant to dermatologic practice. The science behind product efficacy will be discussed for all basic cosmeceutical categories including cleansing, moisturizing, photoprotection, and anti-aging. New concepts in topical appearance management will be introduced to aid the dermatologist in looking toward the future in skin care science not only to maintain skin health, but also improve skin appearance and functioning. At the end of this session, the attendee will be able to link scientific evidence to over-the-counter products.
