Learning Objectives:
Following this course, the attendee should be able to:

  • 1. Diagnose complex dermatologic diseases.
  • 2. Formulate a treatment plan for challenging diagnostic cases.
  • 3. Evaluate the need for screening for associated disorders

Description:
In this session, we will present complex dermatologic scenarios, often requiring interdepartmental interactions. Cases will be presented, followed by primary data to be evaluated, followed by treatment algorithms and screening for associated diseases. Issues relevant to treatment of patients with other co-morbidities and or therapeutics will be highlighted. Important clinicopathologic correlation will be discussed particularly as it affects diagnosis of hospitalized or systemically-ill patients. Finally, common pitfalls in diagnosis and therapy as well as legal caveats will be discussed.
