Description:
Good patient satisfaction is an important goal in its own right. Additionally, patient satisfaction is associated with better treatment outcomes and lower risk exposure. Data from an online patient satisfaction rating site is used to describe how happy patients are with their doctors and the key factors that affect patient satisfaction. Patients’ satisfaction is determined by the global context of the office visit. The quality of the interaction with the physician is a critical component. Patient satisfaction is tightly tied to their perceptions of their doctor’s friendly, caring attitude. Measures to enhance patients’ perception of caring and their satisfaction with care will be discussed.
