Following this course, the attendee should be able to:
- Develop a clinicopathologic approach to the evaluations of patients with endocrine, metabolic and deposition diseases.
- Diagnose the classic, the rare and the new skin manifestations of endocrine, metabolic and deposition diseases.
- Identify treatments and outcomes of skin manifestations in the setting of endocrine, metabolic and deposition diseases.
Description:
The speakers will provide insights into the clinicopathologic correlations, pathogenesis, special studies and therapeutic options of the skin manifestations in the setting of adrenal disease, thyroid disease, diabetes, obesity, amyloidoses, pigmentary deposition disorders and mucinoses. Early diagnosis of skin signs is crucial and may prevent significant morbidity. This focus session is particularly devoted to all practicing dermatologists and dermatopathologists who are interested into cutaneous signs as a clue and a window for systemic diseases.
