- Identify appropriate male and female candidates for hair transplantation.
- Recognize when to use follicular unit extraction (FUE) vs. ellipse for donor harvesting.
- Formulate appropriate hairline when transplanting men.
Description:
This session will cover all aspects of male and female hair transplantation. Topics will include: candidate selection, follicular unit extraction (FUE) vs. ellipse donor harvesting, anesthesia, hairline design, staff training, and pre- and post-operative wound care. Integrating hair transplantation into a busy dermatologic practice will be discussed. In addition, future trends in hair transplantation including hair cloning, robotic hair transplant surgery, low level laser light hair stimulation, and advances in instrumentation will be discussed.
