Learning Objectives:
Following this course, the attendee should be able to:
- Utilize appropriate serologic testing for autoimmune connective tissue disease
- Recognize infusion reactions due to therapies used by dermatologists
- Diagnose neurologic and musculoskeletal disorders causing dysesthesias
Description:
This course is directed at practicing dermatologists and dermatology trainees, and will include skin findings related to systemic disease including hematologic and pulmonary disease, facial papules and leg ulcers related to systemic diseases. Infusion reactions pertinent to the practicing dermatologist and chronic graft-vs.-host disease will be discussed. Challenging consultative dermatologic cases and an overview of serologic testing for autoimmune connective tissue disorders will be covered. Dr. Martin, Professor of Medicine and Chief of Hepatology at the University of Miami, will provide an update on hepatitis C.
