- Formulate and prescribe a treatment plan based on the current medical literature.
Description:
Hidradenitis suppurativa is a chronic, recurrent, scarring inflammatory dermatosis. It is a common disease that is associated with considerable morbidity and often poses significant challenges for the practitioner. Its pathogenesis and clinical presentation will be reviewed. Standard and newer therapeutic options, including antimicrobial therapy, hormone therapy, biologics, surgical and laser procedures, will be discussed. After this presentation, the audience will be able to diagnose and accurately stage the disease, describe its natural history, and summarize current therapies. They will be able to apply this information to develop a rational
treatment algorithm for this often difficult to treat disease.
