Following this course, the attendee should be able to:
- Describe how patient satisfaction can affect treatment outcomes
- Measure patient satisfaction
- Enhance patient satisfaction
Description:
Dermatologists are expert at making diagnoses and prescribing treatments. Great medical care also involves assuring patient satisfaction. While making correct diagnoses and prescribing correct treatment is essential, it is not sufficient for assuring patients’ satisfaction. In this session, the importance of patient satisfaction and ways to measure it will be discussed briefly, followed by extensive discussion of ways to enhance patients’ office visit experience. The speaker, a practicing academic dermatologist and the founder of a doctor rating/patient satisfaction survey website, will share both data on patients’ perceptions of their experiences and tips on enhancing those experiences.
