Description:
Skin infections constitute one of the most prevalent group of diseases treated by dermatologists but scientific support for common practices to diagnose and manage skin infections is often limited to case reports, case series and retrospective studies with flawed methodologies. In this session, recent advances in cutaneous infectious diseases will be discussed, focusing attention on recent published studies. New evidence regarding the pathophysiology, evaluation and treatment of skin infections will be presented. In addition, systematic reviews and evidence-based guidelines will be discussed that help physicians provide best-practice approach to the treatment of infectious diseases of the skin .
