There are many ways you can give back to the profession of dermatology and take advantage of leadership opportunities that promote dermatology and provide you with valuable networking and career development opportunities. Volunteer Recognition
The Academy recognizes volunteers through its Leadership Circle for Volunteerism Program. Members who volunteer can submit their activities and once they accumulate over 100 hours they will be recognized as members of the Leadership Circle.
The Members Making a Difference Award Program is a way for the Academy to recognize members who give back to dermatology through volunteer service.
In order to nominate someone for a Member Making a Difference Award, complete the online application. If you have questions about the program please contact the Member Services department at volunteer@aad.org.

Gifts-in-Kind/Donation Programs
The Academy provides National Library of Dermatologic Teaching Slides to institutions in developing countries and coordinates a program for members to make donations of previously owned educational materials such as books and journals.
