International Fellow Membership Application Information

Dermatologists who reside outside the United States or Canada are eligible for international fellow membership.

Types of Membership

International Fellow

The International Fellow membership is for dermatologists who reside outside the United States or Canada and who have obtained board certification equivalent to that of the American Board of Dermatology or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

Dues for International Fellows are $375 (USD) a year. New graduates who complete residency or a fellowship training program in the year in which they apply qualify for a discounted dues rate of $115 (USD) for the first year's dues, plus a $100 application fee. Applications must be received by Sept. 30 to qualify for this discount.

International Fellow/Electronic

The American Academy of Dermatology's Association Board of Directors has developed an international fellow – electronic membership option for those in developing countries. The electronic option provides access to Academy membership benefits at almost half the cost of the regular international fellow membership dues. This membership offers the member rate for meeting attendance and product orders, and allows access to all online information, including the members' only section of the AAD Web site and the online Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology (JAAD). In addition, you will receive any member benefit that can be provided electronically. If you select electronic membership, you will not receive faxes or printed materials, including JAAD, Derm World, Annual Meeting Program Book, etc. You will be able to access these publications online. Dues for international fellow/electronic are $200 (USD) a year.
