Congress repeals 1099 tax form provision

On April 5, 2011, the U.S. Senate voted 87-12 to repeal the requirement passed through the health system reform bill for organizations to file 1099 tax forms for every purchase that is more than $600.

The AADA and many other organizations supported repeal of this provision and both Democrats and Republicans agreed it was too burdensome.

President Obama signed the bill into law on April 14.
