The worldwide incidence of melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers is increasing alarmingly. The development of new techniques such as dermoscopy leads to a consequent progress in skin cancers screening. In fact dermoscopy has the potential to improve up to 49% the diagnostic accuracy for melanoma if used by experts. The purpose of this course is to highlight basic and recent advances in dermoscopy teaching systematic procedures for improving diagnostic performance and clinical management of pigmented skin lesions by using dermoscopy.
