Figure 2. Irritant contact dermatitis. Note the xerotic, scaling appearance most pronounced over the dorsal aspects of the hands and distal forearms. This cumulative irritant dermatitis in a 47-year-old housekeeper was the result of chronic hand washing combined with surfactant and other solvent exposures.
