The Academy's evidence-based guidelines are published in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology (JAAD) and are considered current for five years from the date of publication unless superseded by an update. These guidelines also are submitted to the National Guideline Clearinghouse.
Previously published evidence-based guidelines that have been sunset or updated may be viewed in the guideline archive.
Clinical resource tools such as PowerPoint slide sets and physician or patient summaries are under development for certain guidelines to facilitate wider dissemination of guideline recommendations, to foster implementation, and assist in physician-patient/caregiver interactions.
If you need additional information about AAD guidelines, email your query to guidelines@aad.org.
