The Thomas G. Pearson, EdD, Memorial Education Award recognizes a member of the Academy who has advanced the organization's educational mission through significant contribution of time, development of educational programs, coordination of educational activities, and more. Established in 2002, the award also serves as a memorial to the late Dr. Thomas G. Pearson, who was the Academy's director of education from 1987 to 2001.

Members reviewed the award criteria and noted that the award recipient should have contributed to the Academy's educational mission in terms of significant donation of time, contribution to the development of educational programs and coordination of educational activities. The recipient should be a member of the American Academy of Dermatology.

The recipient shall receive a commemorative plaque and recognition at the Annual Meeting and in Dermatology World.
