SkinCare for Developing Countries

The Academy offers grants to individuals and organizations to fund international volunteer and humanitarian projects under the SkinCare for Developing Countries program.

Grants vary between $2,500 and $5,000 depending on the proposal, scope of the project, and availability of funds.

Projects must support the Academy’s International Leadership Strategic Initiative, be related to dermatology and/global health care, and serve beneficiaries in underserved regions of the world. Academy members and non-members are eligible to apply for the grants.

Proposals must:
  •  Be related to dermatology and/or global health care.
  •  Demonstrate how the project/activity:
    1. Supports the Academy’s strategic framework (international leadership).
    2. Benefits the Academy as an organization, as well as its members or volunteers (if applicable), and intended recipients (detail effect of the program on individuals and/or larger community).
    3. Would be monitored and evaluated.
  • Include a detailed outline of expenses/costs.
  • Be submitted through the AAD website (no emails).

Multi-year projects can be funded for up to three years.
